Camping stool

A simple and elegant bicycle mount for the home. The mount is made from a single piece of wood and is attached to the wall with screws. The mount is designed to be simple and elegant and to be a functional piece of furniture.

Catering to the growing camping community—a trend driven by increasing urbanization—I chose to address this need during the Folding Furniture module in my 3rd semester at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, under Prof. L. C. Ujawane. My interest in trekking gave me insight into campers’ needs, especially the importance of rest for amateur campers. After analyzing existing market solutions, I aimed to design a product that was genuinely innovative rather than redundant. I set a challenge to make my design fold to half the size of Decathlon’s folding stool. Pushing further, I utilized the college’s resources, including 3D printing, to create a solution that folds down to one-third the size of current options.
